Yo! Congratz TeamSingapore for achieving a silver medal!~ Haha i'm so excited about it though we didnt win gold. Their hardwork paid off, especially my 'idol'--FengTianWei! She's the benefactor sia. If she didnt win, we wont be able to go in the finals! I found some information from the beijing olympic website(not sure if it is, it says Beijing Olympic 2008 so i supposed so) :D i will continue finding & posting. :D 5/1/2008 Wearing the colours of Singapore, she entered the ITTF Women’s World Ranking list in July 2007 following her inaugural appearances on the ITTF Pro Tour at the Volkswagen Open Korea and the Volkswagen Open Japan. She appeared at no. 73; now she occupies a top ten spot.On the Women’s World Ranking list published by the International Table Tennis Federation on Thursday 1st May 2008, twenty-one year old Feng Tianwei appears at no. 9; having occupied the no. 12 spot one month earlier. Chile OpenThe rise of Feng Tianwei is quite remarkable and her latest step up the rankings is largely as a result of her efforts at the recent Chile Open where, once again she beat Hong Kong’s Tie Yana before suffering in the semi-finals of the Women’s Singles event against her Singapore compatriot, Li Jia Wei.Li Jia Wei progressed to win the event in Santiago beating Korea’s Kim Kyung Ah in the final; the effect of their efforts is that Li Jia Wei progresses from no.8 to no. 6 whilst Kim Kyung moves from no. 16 to no.10.Progress following Latin American EventsAlso making progress as a result of their performances in the continent of Latin America are Wang Chen, Wu Xue and Li Jie.Wang Chen of the United States reached the latter stages of the Women’s Singles event at both the Brazil and Chile Opens, whilst Li Jie of the Netherlands was in outstanding form at the Chile Open beating the defending champion and number two seed, Hong Kong’s Jiang Huajun in round two, before losing to Korea’s Park Mi Young.Wang Chen moves from no. 26 to no. 23 whilst Li Jie enters the rankings at no. 49.Santo DomingoNot present in either Belo Horizonte or Santiago, the Dominican Republic’s Wu Xue makes progress as a result of her efforts in the country which she represents. In Santo Domingo in early April she won the Women’s Singles title at both the Latin American Qualification Tournament and at the Latin American Championships; events in which she was a step ahead of the field. No Change at the TopChanges for those who have been in action on the ITTF Pro whilst for those whose avowed intentions is a place on the medal podium at the Beijing Olympic Games it is as you where.China’s Zhang Yining retains her no. 1 World Ranking with Guo Yue one place behind and colleague Wang Nan who will complete the Chinese team line up in Beijing at no. 4; the one to miss out on an Olympic appearance, Li Xiaoxia, remains at no. 3.Under 21 RankingsMeanwhile, in both the Under 21 Women’s Rankings and Under 18 Girls’ Rankings, there is no change at the top.Guo Yue and Li Xiaoxia followed by Japan’s Ai Fukuhara occupy the top three places in the Under 21 list whilst in the Under 18 list the top three spots belong to China’s Liu Shiwen, Ding Ning and Li Xiaodan. i get off
